Overwhelmed By God

Are we a blessed people, or what?! I have been simply overwhelmed by the love of Jesus lately! He not only provides for our every need, He is a Father who cares about the desires of His children as well!  This has been proven to me time and time again.  The most recent event that comes to mind happened in the midst of the violent storms this spring.  I stepped outside the church doors, my attention focusing in on the parking lot.  Now, I could have been content with the gravel parking lot that we have, but being human, I was compelled to want something better! I said, “God, I hate this parking lot”! I wanted a paved lot that is nicer to look at and easier to walk on!

Not long after that, a strong storm hit the city of Gerald and a portion of the roof covering the sanctuary was ripped from the building.  This could have caused huge damage to the rest of the roof as well as to the neighboring homes.  Upon inspection, however, we found that the roof was lifted from its position, and left the rest of the building untouched! Furthermore, it landed up against a neighbor’s home causing no damage!

Several of the men in our church labored together in unity to restore the sanctuary roof. This unity alone is a blessing!  Still, this event could be viewed as a huge misfortune.  Let me tell you, however, what my Jesus did!!  Upon submitting a claim with our insurance company, we received enough money to do the work that was required! Isn’t that wonderful! That however is not the end of what Jesus did! The laborer’s who completed the job took the moneys that the insurance company paid for damages and they donated them back to the church! Praise God! We were able to not only repair the roof, but will be able to pave the front and side portions of our parking lot as well!  God does care about the desires of our hearts! Praise the Lord!!

The hand of God can be seen all around us! Just this past week I received a call from a precious saint in our church.  She has been requesting prayer for her sister, Pat, who had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and the doctors told her that she had between two and 2 ½ months to live.  The Oncologist even discouraged her from taking any form of treatment, telling her that, it was his opinion, the first treatment would either put her in the hospital for the remainder of her life, or she would die instantly during the treatment.  Pat, however, is a believer and she began to pray. Her husband and family began to pray and her name was added to the church prayer list.  Pat decided to trust in her Jesus and go ahead with treatments.  This past week the doctors discovered that Pat had no signs of cancer.  She has been completely healed!

God said, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20.  When the Church gets in Unity, miraculous things will begin to happen! I saw unity this past May during the Church in a Day at Steeleville, Mo!  The women of Section 8 were amazing! The food provided was outstanding and in abundance! There were women from every church working side by side to help make this CIAD a success! Unity! I could not ask for a better group of ladies to work with! Today, a beautiful church stands in Steeleville, Mo! God is changing lives and souls are being saved! Each and every individual who had a part in building this church also shares a part in the souls that are saved through this work!
There is an unsettling around us! God is preparing to do something and I am excited to watch Him work. I know that if we will remain unified there are no limits to what God will do! God bless each and every one of you!
