WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT CHRISTMAS?

Having all the family home and presents  ( I am still a kid at heart). – Sandy Axton

I have two favorites….lights and music. – Barb Braswell

My husband’s Christmas Lights. Our entire house is lit up, complete with many yard displays and built in music. Many come for a tour every year. - Rosalie Harpole

Being with family. – Patricia Maxwell

The stores. The ambiance of it all…. music playing, the décor…I love it! - Jodie Smith

Stockings - and the stuff in them!! I have more fun finding stocking stuffers than I do presents - and have always enjoyed finding out what's in my stocking! - Angie Mitchell

I love the carols and decorations in all of the stores. I just get a bit giddy when I walk in the door! – Jaime Morgans

Lights! Lights! Lights! We enjoy piling in the car and taking a drive around town looking at all of the pretty lights and Christmas decorations. – Kara Hern

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day when everything gets more still & quiet. Stores close, people stay in & a larger percentage of people feel that its ok to relax & get “off schedule”. – Joann Thornton

I love the story of Christ's birth. It was through reading Matthew 1:23 that I came to understand that Jesus was God with us. – Linda Wyatt

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS CAROL?

Joy to the World – Sandy Axton

Carol of the Bells has a lot of memories for me. We sang it in choir when I was in high school, and I’ve taught my kids how to play it on the piano so every time I hear it, I am reminded of the past. – Barb Braswell

WHAT IS THE MOST CHERISHED GIFT YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED?

My accordion – Sandy Axton

My own record player and then several years later the upgrade model of a stereo that included a record player AND a radio, clock and 8-track player! - Barb Braswell

The year my husband bought me three coats. A long Black Fur for dress-up, a beautiful full- length Red Wool for dress-up or casual, and a very warm full-length white down for every day. - Rosalie Harpole

Plane tickets to be able to go build a church overseas. – Patricia Maxwell

Mom always made us a huge Christmas stocking. That was like Christmas in itself! She always put a lot of practical stuff in there that we would use all year. That was always exciting! - Jodie Smith

Maybe you wouldn't count this as a gift, but I still do - in 1992, after over a year of trying to conceive after a miscarriage, I found out I was pregnant with my beautiful daughter on Christmas Eve. The doctor had wanted for me to begin another medicine round, but I asked for one more pregnancy test (a previous test the week before was a false negative) just in case. So thankful that I did! One of the best gifts I have ever received! - Angie Mitchell

As a kid? My first Cabbage Patch Kid, Hermosa Irene. As an adult? My first Mac computer! :O) – Jaime Morgans

My grandmother blessed me with my heart’s desire about twelve years ago...a beautiful nativity set. The nativity set is the first to get unpacked and gently placed in the center of our home on the piano. There is much excitement and care taken as we all gently unpack our pieces and work together to create our nativity scene. – Kara Hern

My family – Joann Thornton

One Christmas when our children were small, we did not have money to buy Christmas gifts for our children. A store in town was having a drawing for a large stocking filled with toys and games. I put all of their names in the box and prayed that God would please let one of them win the stocking. That Christmas Mandy's name was chosen. They not only had the best Christmas ever but had enough games and toys to share a gift with every family in church. – Linda Wyatt

WHAT IS A CHRISTMAS TRADITION IN YOUR FAMILY?

Open gifts on Christmas Eve and have Christmas stockings on Christmas morning. - Sandy Axton

Opening presents on Christmas Eve so that everybody can sleep in on Christmas Day. – Barb Braswell

Choosing Scott, our oldest son to read the Christmas Story every Christmas Morn, before we open gifts. We also go around the room and tell what we are thankful for. It takes a while with 18 people in attendance, and there are always a few tears shed. - Rosalie Harpole

Start Christmas Eve having a steak dinner, put together a Thomas Kinkaid puzzle and sit by the fire and read the Christmas story (Luke's version). And then go to Silver Dollar City to see the lights the day after Christmas. – Patricia Maxwell

When I was smaller Mom always made a Ginger Bread House. She used to make several families one at Christmas time. It was fun to have around and to go get a piece of the roof or a door and enjoy!! – Jodie Smith

Christmas Eve with just our immediate family. We all bake cookies together and have snacks and punch all day. Great family time! - Angie Mitchell

We open gifts one at a time so everyone can enjoy what each person is receiving/giving....it takes forever. My daddy would invariably fall asleep at some point. – Jaime Morgans

Being together with our family and having a feast! – Kara Hern

Reading the Bible Story of the Birth of Christ & leisurely opening gifts w/ our immediate family in pj's, talking, snacking on leftovers, listening to Christmas music by the fire. – Joann Thornton

On Christmas morning before anyone opens a gift my husband reads the Christmas story from the Bible and then we take baby Jesus and hide him, the child who finds Jesus gets to open the first gift because "Wise men still seek him." – Linda Wyatt
